In short
How to light boardrooms and meeting rooms with linear LED: feature pendants, video-call lighting, scene control and colour rendering.

Meeting rooms do more work than any other room in the office. They host presentations, video calls, workshops and client meetings, and the lighting has to adapt to all of them.
Make the table the focus
A single suspended linear pendant centred over the table is the classic solution. It defines the space, lights faces evenly and gives the room a sense of occasion. For long boardroom tables, a continuous run or two parallel lines work well.
Light faces for video calls
Downlight alone creates shadows under eyes and chins. Direct/indirect pendants soften the light, and wall-mounted linear or wall washing adds vertical light on faces, so people look natural on camera.
Scenes matter
- Meeting: full, even light
- Presentation: dimmed near the screen
- Video call: balanced vertical light on faces
DALI or Casambi controls make these one-touch scenes.
Colour and finish
Choose CRI 90 for client-facing rooms, and warm to neutral colour temperatures (3000–4000K) to suit the interior palette.

What is the best lighting for a boardroom?
A suspended linear pendant over the table, ideally direct/indirect, combined with wall lighting and scene control for presentations and video calls.
How do I light a meeting room for video calls?
Add vertical light on faces using direct/indirect pendants or wall lighting, and avoid relying only on downlights, which create harsh shadows.
